The Dream Set a Franchise Record and Angel Reese Just Made WNBA History | 113-96
I need to start with this because it's the kind of moment that doesn't come around often Angel Reese just became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 1,000 career rebounds. In just 79 games. Ten games faster than anyone who has ever played this game.
And that wasn't even the only record broken tonight.
The Atlanta Dream put up 113 points against the Indiana Fever breaking the franchise record for most points scored in a single game in a dominant 113-96 win. This is the third consecutive 100-point victory for this team. Let that sink in. Three straight games. Over 100 points. Every single time.
This Dream team is not just good. They are putting together one of the most explosive offensive stretches I have seen from this franchise.
Angel Reese made history
1,000 career rebounds. In 79 games. The fastest in WNBA history by ten games. Reese has been the most dominant rebounder in this entire league all season, currently leading the WNBA with 12.2 rebounds per game, and tonight she added another chapter to that story. She grabbed her sixth rebound of the night to officially cross the threshold and the building knew exactly what they were witnessing.
A two-time All-Star already. Now a WNBA historical milestone before she's even had her third full season. Angel Reese is rewriting the record books in real time and Atlanta should feel incredibly fortunate to have her.
Naz Hillmon had her best game of the season
A season-high 19 points including 13 in the first quarter alone, a career high for points in a single quarter. Hillmon came out on fire and set the tone for an offense that never slowed down. This is the same player who broke out last season as Sixth Player of the Year and tonight was a reminder that her ceiling keeps rising.
Jordin Canada was the engine
A double-double 12 points and 12 assists and she did it without a single turnover. Zero turnovers while running an offense that scored 113 points. That is elite point guard play. Canada continues to be one of the most underrated floor generals in this league and her fingerprints were all over this win.
Rhyne Howard led in scoring
24 points from the franchise cornerstone, continuing to play like the No. 1 overall pick that Atlanta built this team around. Allisha Gray and the rest of the starting five all hit double figures again tonight Canada, Gray, Howard, Hillmon, and Reese have now all scored in double digits in back-to-back games. That has never happened in franchise history before this season. This starting five is now 11-3 together.
The numbers tell the whole story
50 percent shooting from the field. 54 points in the paint. 19 forced turnovers that turned into 18 points. This was a complete performance on both ends of the floor against a Fever team that had Caitlin Clark go for 26 points and 7 assists. Indiana competed they just couldn't keep up with what Atlanta was doing offensively.
My take
Three straight 100-point wins. A franchise scoring record. Angel Reese making history that will be talked about for years. A starting five that has done something never accomplished before in this organization's history. This Atlanta Dream team is playing the best basketball in the entire league right now and it is not particularly close.
Her Game Network is covering this Dream team all season and nights like tonight are exactly why. This is special.
