The Los Angeles Sparks | Draft Picks
The Los Angeles Sparks used their three picks in the 2026 WNBA Draft to add shooting, scoring, and length three things that fit exactly what GM Raegan Pebley is building in Los Angeles.
Pick 20 — Ta'Niya Latson, G, South Carolina The headliner. Latson is a 5'9" guard who helped lead South Carolina to the 2026 national championship and was a finalist for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award given to the nation's top shooting guard for the second consecutive year. In her lone season as a Gamecock after transferring from Florida State, she averaged 14.1 points, 3.6 assists, and 1.7 steals on a career-high 48.6 percent shooting. Her Sweet 16 performance was one for the highlight reel 28 points on 7 for 11 shooting, 4 forb4 from three, and a perfect 10 for 10 from the free-throw line. Over four collegiate seasons she averaged 20.2 points per game, including a career-high 25.2 points in 2024-25 at Florida State. She is an elite scorer who gets to the line, attacks transition, and defends at the point of attack.
"Ta'Niya is a skilled scorer and versatile playmaker," said Pebley. "Her explosiveness, ability to score in transition and point of attack defense excite us. She also showed her adaptability this season in a new role."
Pick 24 — Chance Gray, G, Ohio State A sharpshooter from Cincinnati who was Ohio State's second-leading scorer at 14.7 points per game, leading the Buckeyes with 85 made threes on 40.5 percent shooting from deep. Over four collegiate seasons that began at Oregon before moving to Ohio State, Gray recorded 1,701 points across 134 games while shooting 85 percent from the free-throw line. She was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team in 2026 and earned Big Ten Honorable Mention honors. "Chance is a skilled shooter and an extremely hard worker," said Pebley. "She was efficient at shooting the three in a strong conference, and we appreciate her versatility."
Pick 35 — Amelia Hassett, F, Kentucky A 6'4" Australian forward who set the Kentucky single-season record with 99 made three pointers on 36.1 percent shooting this past season. In two seasons in Lexington, Hassett averaged 10.5 points and 5.3 rebounds while starting all 67 games she played. Before Kentucky, she was a two season standout at Eastern Florida State where she holds the single season records in double-doubles, points, and blocks. At 22 years old she is a long, versatile big who can shoot, rebound, and protect the rim.
"Amelia is a fantastic three-point shooter," said Pebley. "She finished eighth in the SEC in rebounding, had a high stock rate and is a talented shot blocker. She's an exciting player who fits our system well."
The bigger picture With Atkins via trade, Plum and Ogwumike locked in, Brink healthy, and now three new draft picks adding depth and shooting the Sparks are a completely different team than the one that missed the playoffs five straight years. Her Game Network will be there to cover every game.
