Lady Rebels Battle No. 7 Baylor in Gritty Home Showdown, Fall 62–54

The UNLV Lady Rebels went toe to toe with No. 7 Baylor on Friday night inside a sold out Cox Pavilion, and they made the Bears earn every single point. Despite a strong fight and multiple momentum swings, UNLV came up short, falling 62–54 in a tough non conference matchup. Even with the loss, the Lady Rebels (2–1) still lead the all-time series 4–2.

This one was competitive from start to finish. The lead changed 9 different times, both teams had their own 8 point runs, and neither side ever really pulled away. It was the kind of game that felt like a March battle dropped right into November.Lott Lights It Up

Jasmyn Lott had herself a night. The sophomore delivered a career-high 18 points, shooting an efficient 7 for 12 from the field and knocking down two big threes to keep UNLV in striking distance. She also went a perfect 2 for 2 at the line. Lott brought poise and confidence exactly what you need in big games like this.

Meadow Roland Does It All

If there’s one thing we know about Meadow Roland, it’s that she shows up in big games, and tonight was no exception. Roland posted her third career double-double with 13 points and a team high 11 rebounds, while also dishing out a career high four assists and grabbing a career high three steals. She impacted the game in every column scoring, rebounding, creating, defending. Truly a complete performance.

Baylor’s Response

The Bears (3–0) leaned on Taliah Scott, who dropped 23 points and made key baskets whenever UNLV threatened. Darianna Littlepage-Buggs anchored Baylor on the glass with 12 rebounds, giving them just enough extra possessions to tilt the game late.

This matchup was all about toughness and back and forth energy:
Nine lead changes. Three ties. Both teams with an eight point lead at some point.
It was a grind it out battle exactly what you expect from two programs with pride and talent.
