A’JA Breaks WNBA Record as Aces Roll to 14th Straight Win

LAS VEGAS — A’ja Wilson continues to rewrite the record books, and the Las Vegas Aces keep stacking wins. Behind Wilson’s dominant 31-point, 11-rebound double-double, the Aces (28-14) extended their winning streak to 14 games with an 80-66 victory over the Chicago Sky (10-32) Sunday night at T-Mobile Arena.

Wilson’s performance set a new WNBA record with 13 games of 30+ points in a single season. It was her 10th 30/10 outing of the year and the 119th double-double of her career, moving her to fifth all-time in league history.

Jackie Young was right alongside her All-Star teammate, tallying 20 points, 9 assists, and 5 rebounds, marking her 14th 20-point game of the season. Chelsea Gray added 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists, Megan Gustafson stepped into the starting lineup and gave the Aces a steady boost in the paint.

Las Vegas came out firing, opening on an 11-0 run and never looking back. The Aces led wire to wire, pushing their advantage to as many as 25 in the third quarter. They shot 45.7% from the field and outscored Chicago 24-5 on fast break points, taking full advantage of 19 Sky turnovers to generate 22 points.

Chicago placed five players in double figures, led by Rachel Banham and Michaela Onyenwere with 12 apiece. Despite outrebounding Las Vegas 40-28, the Sky could not overcome their mistakes or the Aces defensive pressure.

With the win, Las Vegas became just the fifth team in WNBA history to record a 14-game winning streak. The 2001 Los Angeles Sparks still hold the league record at 18.
