Aces Rally Late Behind Jewell & Jackie to Beat Wings

LAS VEGAS (June 13, 2025) Liz Kitley earned the first start of her WNBA career, and the energy inside Michelob ULTRA Arena matched the moment. This game also marked the Aces 30th consecutive sellout, with 10,428 fans packing the house for a Friday night showdown against the Dallas Wings. And they got their money’s worth, as the Aces pulled off a gritty comeback to win 88-84 and improve to 5-4 on the season.

With A’ja Wilson still sidelined due to concussion protocol, the Aces leaned heavily on their dynamic backcourt and Jackie Young and Jewell Loyd delivered in a big way.

Jackie was in attack mode all night, dropping a game high 28 points, including a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line, setting a new personal best. Her ability to draw contact and convert at the stripe kept the Aces in striking distance during critical moments. Her poise and production were key, especially when the team needed buckets in the final stretch.

Jewell Loyd was right there with her, providing the spark from beyond the arc. Loyd finished with 21 points, hitting five 3-pointers, including the clutch go-ahead three with just under 30 seconds left in regulation. With that performance, Loyd moved up to 19th on the WNBA’s all-time scoring list, now sitting at 5,630 career points a milestone night in more ways than one.

Chelsea Gray added 13 points and 5 assists, and Kiah Stokes anchored the glass with a team-high 8 rebounds.

How It Went Down:

  • First Half: A close first quarter ended with the Aces up 24-18 after a late run sparked by Young. Vegas kept its rhythm in the second and stretched the lead to 9 by halftime (49-40).

  • Third Quarter Collapse: The Aces came out flat after halftime, turning the ball over 9 times as Dallas went on an 18-0 run to take control. By the end of the third, Las Vegas trailed 70-64.

  • Fourth Quarter Fightback: Down by 11 with under four minutes to play, the Aces dug deep. A 17-2 run in the final stretch, led by clutch free throws and a huge triple from Loyd, helped Vegas steal this one back.
