Fourth Quarter Fireworks: Lady Rebels Extend Streak Over CSU to Ten

The UNLV Lady Rebels proved once again why they are a force to be reckoned with in the Mountain West. In a Saturday afternoon showdown at The Pavilion, the Scarlet & Gray locked in a 64-51 victory over Colorado State, extending their dominant win streak against the Rams to ten consecutive games.

While the final score shows a double digit gap, this game was a test of resilience that came down to a legendary fourth quarter performance.

The Turning Point: Responding to the Pressure

After leading for much of the first half, the Lady Rebels saw their cushion evaporate in the third quarter. The Rams put together an 8-0 run to cut the lead to two, and by the start of the fourth quarter, the game was deadlocked at 40-40.

With the momentum swinging toward the visitors, UNLV flipped a switch. The Lady Rebels ignited a 17-2 scoring run halfway through the final frame, turning a tie game into a 16 point lead in a matter of minutes.

Statistical Perfection

The fourth quarter wasn't just about effort it was about clinical execution. The Lady Rebels shot a staggering 90% (9 of 10) from the field in the final ten minutes. Perhaps even more impressively, they went a perfect 4 for 4 from beyond the arc and 2 for 2 from the free throw line to slam the door shut.

It was a balanced attack for UNLV, with four players reaching double digits:

Meadow Roland: Continued her conference leading campaign with her 8th double-double of the season (14 points, 14 rebounds) and added two blocks.

Shelbee Brown: Anchored the interior with her 7th double-double of the year, matching Roland’s 14 rebounds and adding 12 points.

Jasmyn Lott: Provided a steady 12 points.

Sydni Summers: Provided a massive spark off the bench, tying her season-high with 12 points and hitting four triples.

The bench was a major factor in the win, outscoring the Rams' reserves 19-8, proving the depth of this Lady Rebels roster.

What’s Next?

The Lady Rebels (15-7, 10-2) will enjoy a well deserved midweek bye to rest and regroup. They hit the road next to take on Utah State on Saturday, Feb. 7.
